FarmAware to use CF Reader technology

FarmAware Mobile is now being released for use with Compact Flash (CF) card technology. This robust, low cost-alternative to SD cards is compatible with a number of market-leading PDA devices and gives the farmer the ability to read animal EID devices using his PDA device when out in the field. Typical CF cards will retail at around $180 Canadian dollars, (approx 100GBP) with delivery expected to take 3-5 days.

Version 2.0 due for release March 2010

Following the addition of various new features, including the incorporation of Bluetooth RFID reading for all input screens, version 2.0 of FarmAware Mobile will be released on general release early March 2010. Existing customers will be informed by email and through their control panel login when the new version is available and it will be distributed via download from the FarmAware web site, or if required by DVD. Existing clients may wish to upgrade their version of FarmAware Mobile to use the new features. Version 1.0.x will remain supported for existing contract periods.

FarmAware launches Mobile Application

Launched January 2010, the FarmAware Mobile application is a software package designed for farmers and enterprise managers who need the ability to scan RFID (EID) animal tags on the go and where data management is critical to their business. Designed in conjunction with UK farmers to assist in the recording of EID numbers for sheep and goats, the FarmAware Mobile platform provides a suite of easy-to-use screens and tools that help with the management and treatment recording for animals on farm.
